Roy Bridge Primary School is in Inverness-shire, where there is a particular focus on environmental issues, having won many awards for its projects. In line with this ethos, Colorado Construction – with our experience in environmentally sound road and car-park repair, construction and development – was the ideal partner for the infrastructure phase of the Roy Bridge primary school extension. The extension included the placement of modular buildings and therefore the core of the works related to the car-park, services and connection works.
The enabling and infrastructure works incorporated the installation of new foul and surface water drainage connections. This necessitated the diversion of services including telecoms, power and water. Colorado Construction also excavated and installed new foundations for the modular buildings, and constructed a new turning circle together with a range of external finishes.
Due to the very tight installation programme it was necessary to carry out the majority of the works whilst the school was still operational. This was achieved safely by working closely with the teachers and support staff at the school.
