Colorado Construction have recently undertaken a series of upgrade and renovation works to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the surrounding buildings included within the site. We are working closely with the Royal Collection Trust to enhance the experience of Holyroodhouse for years to come.
Projects include the creation of a learning centre, ticketing and welcome space, a new garden inspired by the palaces 17th century physic garden as well as new electrical work for picture lighting, wayfinding and interpretation within the Palace.
The Abbey Strand building was built in 1490 and has been home to medieval monks, royal courtiers and debtors seeking refuge from imprisonment. The future plan for this building is to sympathetically convert it to a learning centre.
With work spread throughout the historic site our management team are working hard to incorporate the multiple systems of work required and take care to work closely with the archaeology team.
